The Network Inversion Filter

The Network Inversion Filter (NIF) is a Kalman Filter based method for time-dependent inversion of geodetic data to obtain fault slip.  There are a number of versions of the NIF floating around.  The NIF was originally developed by Segall and Matthews, 1997, and built upon by a number of subsequent researchers including myself.  The version provided here is MATLAB based, and includes an example and some documentation.  Please see the "readme" documentation for instructions and proper attribution.

Depending on your settings when running the NIF, you may also need the PDCO software package. Specifically, you will need this if you want to turn on the non-negativity constraint on slip-rate and use inverse covariance weighting. PDCO can be obtained at http://web.stanford.edu/group/SOL/software/pdco/.

Download the NIF folder here (warning: large file, ~93 MB).

Download codes used to create NIF input files here (these are less well documented, but see comments in .m files).
